U.S. Marines and Sailors with Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise 2019 (AECE) transport personnel and equipment from the USS Somerset (LPD-25) to Adak, Alaska via Landing Craft Air-Cushion (LCAC) from Landing Craft Unit-5 (LCU-5) during amphibious operations, Sept. 18, 2019. Approximately 3,000 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel participated in AECE, a joint training exercise that tests expeditionary logistical capabilities in the Arctic region and prepares joint forces to respond to crises across the Indo-Pacific.
