U.S. Marines with Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 271 repair a damaged runway during Field Exercise (FEX) 1-24 at Marine Corps Outlying Landing Field Atlantic, North Carolina, Oct. 26-28, 2023. Combat engineers with MWSS-271 trained in clearing, breaching, and airfield-recovery operations using distributed aviation operations and distributed command-and-control tactics during FEX 1-24.
