A U.S. Marine demonstrates how to assemble a portable AC unit at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Jan. 15, 2025. Operation Clean Sweep is the first step in a larger Barracks 360 Reset initiative, which aimed to improve the living conditions and operational readiness of Marines and Sailors. Through increased oversight by command teams, the operation dedicated efforts to introducing over 6,177 air conditioning units, reducing the barracks maintenance backlog, and sharing ownership of the barracks.
