U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Daniel Heller, a Marine from Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, is awarded the Navy Cross by the 39th Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. Eric Smith, at the Home of the Commandants in Washington D.C., August 28, 2024. Heller was awarded the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism on February 13, 1969 in the Republic of Vietnam.
