U.S. Marines with Recapture Tactics Team, Marine Corps Security Force Regiment, and British Royal Marine instructors with 43 Commando Fleet Protection Group, conduct low-light engagement drills while firing C8 carbine rifles and Glock 17 service pistols during exercise Tartan Eagle Phase II, at Northumbria Police Range, Wallsend, England, Dec. 12, 2021. This range allowed U.S. Marines to work alongside British Royal Marines and orient themselves with the British Royal Marines service weapons, tactics, and procedures to further develop their close-quarters engagement capabilities. Exercise Tartan Eagle is a bilateral biyearly training exercise in which the U.S Marines and their British counterparts travel to each other's training facilities to compare close-quarters battle strategy and tactics.
