U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class (HM2) Rogelio Saldana and HM2 Tafforal Wedderburn demonstrate and teach U.S. Marines and Japanese Soldiers how to properly analyze a patient in a combat environment during Exercise Iron Fist 2017 aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Feb. 9, 2017. The purpose of the training is to enhance the Marine Corps' interoperability with the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force as well as to increase skill level in their respective fields. Iron Fist is an annual, bilateral training exercise where U.S. and Japanese service members train together and share techniques, tactics and procedures to improve their combined operational capabilities.
