Military working dog handlers from Pacific Air Forces and their counterparts from the Philippine Air Force shared best practices during a subject matter expert exchange April 3, 2019, in support of Exercise Balikatan. The exchange focused on various techniques including explosive detection, adjusting to gunfire and search and rescue. Exercise Balikatan, in its 35th iteration, is an annual U.S.-Philippine military training focused on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, counterterrorism, and other combined military operations.
