1st Marine Division held a ceremony honoring Mrs. Maxine Russell, an Orange County resident who has dedicated her life to providing for military families and servicemembers at the 1st Marine Division Headquarters, Camp Pendleton Calif., on Nov. 30, 2016. Since Operation Desert Storm, Maxine has been sending care packages to Marines overseas and on deployments for nearly 30 years in remembrance of her deceased son Darren “White Rabbit” Russell.
