Allied, partner nations observe Force Design’s IBX in action
Seven Allied and partner nation foreign liaison officers assigned to Marine Corps Combat Development Command observe a company live-fire exercise on Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., July 30. The FLO’s toured the Battle Simulation Center and observed the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines’ company live-fire on Range 400 and urban lane training in order to get a firsthand look how Force Design is reshaping the Corps’ infantry battalions through the Infantry Battalion Experiment.

The New Infantry Battalion Construct from IBX Phase II
Marines and sailors with 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment test the new infantry battalion organization construct during phase two of the Infantry Battalion Experiment at Marine Air-Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California, in August. Phase two of IBX demonstrated Marine leadership at the company level exercising more command and control of its Marines in a distributed environment, while employing new technologies to further enhance tactical employment of forces. Company level staff will now have more autonomy to conduct logistics, communications, intelligence and employ unmanned aerial systems.
