U.S. Marines with 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, and U.S. Navy Sailors bring assault amphibious vehicles and LCACs aboard the USS Somerset (LPD-25), Sep. 6, 2019. Approximately 3,000 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel are participating in Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE), a joint training exercise that tests expeditionary logistical capabilities in the Arctic region and prepares joint forces to respond to crises across the Indo-Pacific.
