Contractors demolish one of 33 homes using a buffalo turbine to control dust as a part of Atlantic Marine Corps Communities’ demolition and repair plan for homes damaged in Hurricane Florence on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, July 17, 2020. Project Director for AMCC, John Giltz explains the final phases of recovery from Hurricane Florence in 2018. 3,200 homes have been repaired and there are roughly 500 more homes that need repairs or demolition. 19 homes at MCB Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River and 14 homes at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point are scheduled for demo before December 2020.
