Marines assigned to Air Traffic Control, Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point play a critical role in the overall training and proficiency of pilots and aircraft on MCAS Cherry Point and the surrounding area, March 29, 2017. They are responsible for the sequencing and separation of aircraft within the MCAS Cherry Point airspace. Cherry Point air traffic controllers manage more than 9,000 square miles of airspace in the region for military, civil, and commercial aircraft. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl.
