Capt. Mark Brokaw Jr., a Foreign Area Officer for 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, explains his role during Exercise Ssang Yong 2016 in South Korea. Ssang Yong, meaning “Twin Dragons,” is a joint, amphibious exercise that reinforces the U.S. and Republic of Korea’s commitment to security in the Asia-Pacific region. The exercise comprises sea basing, naval integration between Marines and Sailors of the ROK and US, and partnership between the armed forces of the ROK, U.S., New Zealand and Australia. Brokaw is from Fredericksburg, Virginia
