Michael McCarthy, commanding officer of Marine Air Control Group (MACG) 28, discusses the realignment of all 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) Marine Wing Support Squadrons (MWSS) to MACG-28 at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, June 7, 2022. The realignment merged air command and control (AC2) and aviation ground support (AGS) mission units under a single commander, in accordance with Force Design 2030 and AGS initiatives at Headquarters Marine Corps.
