Distributed Aviation Operations Exercise 2: JTACs put bombs down range

U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Timothy Tschida, a joint terminal attack controller with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, and Gunnery Sgt. William McClellan, a battalion fires chief with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, coordinate with pilots from Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 223 to drop practice bombs at Townsend Bombing Range, Georgia, Feb. 24, 2023. U.S. Marines with 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) conducted distributed aviation operations outside of their home duty station and local area to validate logistics, sustainment, and communications requirements for command elements. 2nd MAW is the aviation combat element of II Marine Expeditionary Force.
