Marines with 1st Marine Corps District honor Lt. Col. Franklin Wharton, the
third Commandant of the Marine Corps, and Sgt. Maj. Daniel Daly, one of two
Marines who have earned two Medals of Honor during their service. Every year
on the Nov. 10, the birthday of the Marine Corps, the Marines of 1MCD conduct
these wreath laying ceremonies with members of the Marine Corps League
Sunrise Detachment from Massapequa, N.Y.
