Father's Day is a holiday celebrated worldwide to recognize the contribution that fathers and father figures make in the daily lives of the children they raise, care for, and love. In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers and designated the third Sunday in June as Father’s Day to show appreciation for what they do.
