AV-8B Harrier Legacy
3rd Marine Aircraft Wing
April 27, 2022 | 2:01
U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier jets have an extensive history, starting in January 1985 when they achieved initial operating capability with 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. U.S. Marines have spent decades maintaining and flying the AV-8B Harrier, allowing the aircraft to continuously demonstrate its aptitude and embody the lethality and tenacity of the Marine Corps. As legacy aircraft age, the F-35B Lightning II jets have become increasingly more effective in maintaining air dominance by delivering integrated sustainment capabilities to remain mission ready, anytime, anywhere.
