Lieutenant (LT) Yusuf Abdullah, a nurse with Naval Medical Readiness Training Command aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, joined the Navy in 1993 and served 18 years as a naval hospital corpsman before becoming an officer. LT Abdullah is in charge of the COVID-19 vaccination clinic on base. MCICOM exercises command and control of Marine Corps installations via regional commanders in order to provide oversight, direction and coordination of installation services and to optimize support to the Operating Forces, tenants and activities.
