Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 314 officially retires the F/A-18A++ Hornet while welcoming the first F-35 C on MCAS Miramar, Calif., Jun 21. Members of VMFA-314 remark their sentiment seeing the aircraft depart the squadron indefinitely. VMFA-314 is the first squadron in the Marine Corps to receive the carrier variant of the F-35.
