26th MEU Readiness: Aviation Combat Element
26th Marine Expeditionary Unit
March 20, 2018 | 0:59
MEDITERRANEAN SEA (March 20, 2018) U.S. Marines assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 162 (Reinforced), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) maintain a constant state of readiness aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21) March 20, 2018. Marines conduct mission rehearsals to be ready at a moment’s notice and improve their techniques, tactics, and procedures while deployed to U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
