Marines from III MEF arrive in South Korea for Freedom Shield 25

U.S. Marines from across III Marine Expeditionary Force offload from the High-Speed Transport ship USNS Guam (T-HST-1) at Pohang Port, South Korea, as well as from a KC-130J Hercules cargo plane at Pohang-Gyeonggi Airport, Mar. 1, 2025. Over 800 Marines arrived between the port and airfield, during Freedom Banner 25, facilitated by Marines from III MEF Support Battalion, acting as the Command Element and arrival and assembly operations element. III MSB provides and coordinates direct combat services support, security, and administrative services to III MEF, 3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade and III MEF Information Group Command Elements to enable III MEF to win in competition and conflict.
