Wounded Warriors prepare for Invictus Games
I Marine Expeditionary Force
July 23, 2014 | 2:44
Wounded Warrior Regiment hosts a swimming and cycling camp aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., July 13-19, 2014. These camps are meant for all skill levels and are not meant to be training for the Warrior Games or the Trials, however many of those athletes do attend. This camp gave wounded warriors an opportunity to try new physical activities with expert coaching in order to learn their “new normal.” Four Marines participating in the camp, plan on competing in the Invictus Games, an international sporting competition for over 300 wounded, injured and sick service personnel. September, 2014 it is to be hosted in London. These four Marines from Wounded Warrior Battalion West are Gunnery Sgt. Matthew Hammond, 35, from San Diego, Gunnery Sgt. Tyrone Judge, 35, from Clarkton, N.C., Master Sgt. Benjamin Lacour, from Kinder, La., and Lance Cpl. Chali Hall, 21, from Fallon, Nev. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl. Seth Starr/released)
