More than 1,000 NATO military members begin Exercise Summer Shield 12 at Military Camp Adazi, Latvia, March 22, 2015. Summer Shield is an annual, multi-lateral exercise conducted to enhance military capacity and improve NATO forces' interoperability. This year's exercise is the first year where seven NATO partners are involved. Participating in this year's exercise will include forces from Latvia, the United States, Lithuania, Estonia, Luxembourg, Canada, and Germany. Includes sound bites from U.S. Marine Capt. Frank Walker, Commanding Officer of Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Black Sea Rotational Force and Latvian Maj.
