U.S. Marine Master Gunnery Sgt. Louis M. Blakes, a recruiter instructor with Recruiting Station Montgomery and a Baton Rouge native, gives an interview about the involvement of the Marines during the 2017 Bayou Classic, at Sherrif Marlin N.Gusman’s annual Thanksgiving Day feast in New Orleans, Nov. 24. Southern University and Grambling State University competed at the 44th annual Bayou Classic football game, where Marine recruiters worked to increase awareness and consideration of the Marine Corps as a career opportunity.
