Capabilities Development Directorate develops and integrates warfighting capabilities solutions that provide for an effective, integrated MAGTF capability, current and future, that anticipates strategic challenges and opportunities for the nation’s defense.

 Joint Capabilities Directorate (JCID)

  • Advise the ACMC, as the USMC Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) Principal, on the priorities of joint capabilities identified by Combatant Commanders and their relationship to USMC capabilities.
  • Advise the ACMC on the extent to which Service and Agency capability proposals within the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) conform with the priorities established in strategic plans (SPG and QDR, etc.) and combatant command prioritized capability needs.
  • Advise the ACMC on alternative capability recommendations that are within projected resource levels and guidance provided by the SecDef and their relationship to USMC programs.

Futures Directorate identifies plausible future security environments and develops and explores warfighting concepts and CONOPS. It does this in order to identify potential future capability gaps and opportunities in order to inform future force development.

The Operations Analysis Directorate executes and provides oversight for the Marine Corps on all matters pertaining to operations analysis, and modeling and simulation in order to provide support to organizations across the Marine Corps and to assist in making force development, programmatic, and warfighting decisions.
