Data Services Environment (DSE) DSE is the DoD’s designated enterprise tool for worldwide content discovery. It allows the users to define their search criteria and discover content provided via a centralized search engine, federated data sources, and the Enterprise Catalog. DSE is a registry that provides an online repository containing descriptive, semantic, and structural metadata enabling users to share existing resources and discover and reuse (rather than re-create) data, information, and IT service assets. Essentials of Modeling and Simulation (EMS) is a free online training course developed by the Department of Defense that is available to all who want to learn about the fundamental concepts of modeling and simulation (M&S). Modules include History, Models, Simulations, Fidelity, and M&S Process. Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A) are discussed as integral parts of the M&S Process. EMS identifies core concepts to help standardize the field of M&S. The content incorporates input received from various practitioners, researchers, and experts. Each module presents a narrative using images and sounds. Practice activities and test cases are used to check learning as users progress through the various modules.
